Uses

Otiderm® is specifically formulated to deodorize and gently clean, while it acidifies the pet's ear canal and self-dries. This provides an ideal environment for healthy ears.

Effective Cleaning

Otiderm is an anti-irritant formula with neutral pH and aloe vera. Otiderm can be used in conjunction with ear medications. Apply gently to the ear, then massage the base of the ear gently. Using a non-abrasive material, remove excess solutions and repeat if necessary. For external skin lesions or wounds: Apply liberally 2 to 3 times daily or as directed by a veterinarian. After use, close both parts of the cap tightly.

Cautions

Discontinue use and irrigate with water if undue irritation develops, and consult a veterinarian. Do not use it on severely irritated or ulcerated skin. For use in pets only. Store at room temperature. Keep out of reach of children.

Ingredients

Deionized water, Propylene Glycol, Aloe Vera Gel, SD Alcohol 40, Lactic Acid, Glycerin, Dioctyl Sodium Sulfosuccinate, Salicylic Acid, Fragrance, Benzoic Acid, Benzyl Alcohol.

Useful Information

Apply liberally into the ear canal. Massage the base of the ear. Allow pet to shake head. Clean excess with a cotton ball.

In excessively dirty ears: apply 2-3 times daily over several days.

For maintenance of health ears: 1-2 times weekly or as often as recommended by your veterinarian. Always apply after swimming.

Caution:

For animal use only. For topical use only. Avoid contact with eyes. In case of contact, flush eyes with water and seek medical attention if irritation persists. Do not use in ears with ruptured tympanic membranes (eardrums).

Storage:

Store at room temperature. Keep out of reach of children.

This seems to help the ears, but the perfume smell is WAY too strong and lingers for a long time. If you want your dog to smell like they are wearing a strong, cheap perfume while helping their ears, maybe this is a good choice. I'm not a fan of the smell!

Essential for water-loving dogs

If you've got a dog that loves the water, you should have this on hand. Labs and goldens (and other water loving breeds) seem to trap water in their ears and the resulting infections are not fun (sometimes painful and can cause seizures) and smell really bad. This stuff flushes out excess water and accumulated ear wax and other water-borne schmutz that collects in the folds inside the ear, dries quickly, moisturizes and leaves a pleasant scent. After a swimming session or a bath, I squirt in a teaspoon or so straight into my Milo's ear canal, and he shakes the excess right out, leaving a nice clean ear canal, dry after about an hour. I've always got Otiderm handy.

My Havanese started getting brown, yeasty stuff in her ears. I bought some Otiderm and have been saturating cotton balls with it and wiping out her ears every other day. Plus a few drops directly in the ear canal. Fixed the problem before something serious took hold. Ears look good and our vet agreed!

I am a professional dog groomer and have used many ear cleaners over the years. This is a very good general ear cleaner. I use this product to remove debris from the ear canal and then follow up with a more therapeutic ear product for those dogs with problematic ear conditions. That way, I don't use the more expensive product for the general cleaning.

Use this product for the first time and I do have to say that it has really cleaned my dogs ears. I have tried other products and have never felt that their ears were clean enough. So far so good.
