Description
Musher's Secret Paw Protection (60 g) is a dense barrier wax that forms a breathable bond with your dog's paws. Developed in Canada for use with sledding dogs, it provides protection even in the most extreme conditions. Perfect for dogs who don't like boots! Made from 100% safe and natural waxes, Musher's Secret won't stain carpets, is non-toxic, and is easy to use. The semi-permeable shield is absorbed into the paws, allowing perspiration to escape through the toes. Excellent for preventing snowballing and saltburn on your dog's toes in the winter and protects paws against sandburn and hot asphalt in summer. Apply a small amount on and in-between your dog's toes. If snowballing re-occurs, just reapply. Wipe off excess after use. Also can be used for protection and soothing relief from fly bitten ears, open sores, cracked toes, nicks, scratches, and burns. Just apply a small amount to the affected area as needed.
- Musher's has no healing properties but used over a cleaned wound, will keep out dirt and speed the healing process.

It works okay

It does seem to protect my dog's paws from salt and snow a little bit, and makes him able to stay outside a little bit longer, but it wasn't as amazing as I thought it would be, and I have to reapply it often. It doesn't last as long as I thought it would.

Nice on the pads

This does soften the pads and helps with slipping. I feel like my Mimi Aussie gets fewer stickers and this cream helps protect in the snow. I llike that it doesn't stain which can be a problem with petroleum jelly. I have bought this as a gift for dogs that aren't fond of boots.

This worked fairly well, but it did not last for more than about half an hour in deep snow. It was somewhat difficult to apply b/c it is so solid. I couldn't seem to get much out of the container to apply on my dog's paws. In all, it did help a lot in keeping snow from balling up between her paws. I've also heard that vaseline works well so I'll try that and compare the two.

Had my doubts but I was wrong

Listing to the cry's from my dog when we hit a salty patch on our daily walks was just too much. Boots did not suit him. I was aware of this product but I had my doubts about if it would work. I was wrong. I put it on his paws and rubbed it into the fur between his pads - not adding too much of the product - and it worked great. I held my breath as he walked through a puddle of salty water into a snow bank without any pain. We walk across heavily salted pavement with no problems now. Sorry I waited so long. There are no marks from the product on the dark brown ceramic tile on the floor in the mud room where I apply it either. Great stuff.

Very convenient

This wax is a lot more convenient than struggling with doggie shoes. It works well to prevent ice clogs on doggie's paws.

My highly competitive male does a lot of sliding and slipping during agility and frisbee games. He was prone to ripping open his pads. Musher's Secret has helped to get his pads in A+ shape. When they are flexible/pliable and not dry/cracked, they hold up much better to his competitive antics. I would recommend it HIGHLY as a maintenance product to keep pads in wonderful condition and prevent problems from ever occurring.

We've had more snow here then I can ever remember, and I needed something better than booties for my 2 pooches who pick up their feet and cry whenever they touch ice or salt. This product works great, they no longer have a problem with snowballs/salt unless I am taking them on a super long walk and the product wears off a bit. I am a professional dog trainer and have started recommending this product to my clients as well!

my greyhound has a sore on his paw and i put on them from getting cracked try but he licks the stuff off what i do and can i do from licking his feet all the tkime
