Great Product

I was so pleased with this product.. It is so much more effective than Amonium AD or Albon .. I have used it twice and it cured simple diarrhea over night in both cases.. I raise pekingese puppies and they have sensitive stomachs. I am very happy that i have discovered this product.

Taste it, IF YOU DARE!

I have good news and bad news about this product. Good news: Pet Pectillin is free of salicylic acid, an anti-inflammatory ingredient found in OTC human anti-diarrheals. That's good, because some animals cannot tolerate salicylates; HOWEVER, this stuff tastes terrible! FYI, I always sample this sort of med, so I know if my dogs are likely to lick it up as is, or if I need to use a dosing syringe. The folks at Lambert Kay must have forgotten to add the "Palatable Vanilla Flavor" mentioned on the label, because this stuff is as bitter as. . . well, its bitter. Keep that in mind if you decide to order some, especially for large dogs.

haven't needed to try yet

I bought this for the rare times when I need it. I have not needed it yet.
I did give the extra one to my neighbor who has a very yeasty Cocker who gets diarrhea very often and has a very restricted diet. I have not heard from him as yet.

Only Kaolin Pectate without chicken
October 10, 2013
My IB mini poodle is very allergic to chicken so I buy this brand because it is the only kaolin-pectate medication for dogs that does not contain chicken.Chicken is the number one food allergen for USA dogs so consider that diarrhea could be caused by chicken allergy. This medication soothes the GI tract and is a must for any dog medicine cabinet.

Not so good
March 3, 2012
I was hoping to find a solution for my cats constant diarrhea, and after giving as directed (which wasn't easy because my cat HATED the taste), it didn't do a bit of good. In fact, I think it made his problem worse. Unfortunately, not the solution here.
