Description

Capstar Green an efficient, single, fast-acting dose that kills adult fleas on your dog. If your dog gets re-infested with fleas, you can safely give another dose as often as once per day. To administer Capstar tablets, place the pill directly in your pet's mouth, or hide it in food. If you choose to hide the tablet in food, watch closely to make sure your pet swallows the pill. If you are not sure that your pet swallowed the pill, it is safe to administer a second pill.

We recommend you follow up Capstar treatment with a monthly flea control product such as Frontline Plus and keep Capstar on hand for the times when there is a visible flea re-infestation.

Dosage

A single dose of Capstar should kill the adult fleas on your pet. If your pet gets re-infested with fleas, you can safely give another dose as often as once per day please refer to the package insert for complete information.

Administration

To give Capstar Tablets, place the pill directly in your pet’s mouth or hide it in food. If you hide the pill in food, watch closely to make sure your pet swallows the pill. If you are not sure that your pet swallowed the pill, it is safe to give a second pill.

Treat all infested pets in the household. Fleas can reproduce on untreated pets and allow infestations to persist.

Quick Tips

  • Capstar can be used with lufenuron to provide a Flea Management system. The two products, when used together, kill adult fleas and prevent flea eggs from hatching.
  • Capstar kills adult fleas that cause flea allergy dermatitis (FAD).
  • If you have questions about flea control or medical problems associated with flea infestations, please consult your veterinarian.

Cautions

Pets may scratch as a result of the fleas dying, but it is a temporary condition and not a reaction to the medication itself.

Possible Side Effects

Dogs

Lethargy/depression, vomiting, itching, decreased appetite, diarrhea, hyperactivity, incoordination, trembling, seizures, panting, allergic reactions including hives, vocalization, salivation, fever, and nervousness.

Cats

Hyperactivity, panting, lethargy, itching, vocalization, vomiting, fever, decreased appetite, nervousness, diarrhea, difficulty breathing, salivation, incoordination, seizures, pupil dilation, increased heart rate, and trembling. There are no known drug or food interactions .

Capstar is the best

Capstar is our go-to product when the fleas start bothering our dogs. We've been using Capstar for years because of its quick effectiveness. Even though it's pricier than we would prefer, it's worth it to see our dogs comfortable.

Can't detect any reduction in fleas

I find no indication Capstar works, although a local vet recommended it. After using about 10 tablets my observation is that fleas are able to survive it.I'd call it ineffective.

The only thing that saved us from fleas!

Our dog recently acquired fleas while visiting a family member in the country. We have never had to deal with fleas in the decades of pet ownership, and it was AWFUL!! There were fleas everywhere in our house, I would find them on our infant daughter crawling on the floor, jumping in our bed, jumping on our sofa, even on the countertop next to the kitchen sink. I thought I was going to have a nervous break down, nothing was working. Topical treatments, baths, vacuuming, DE powder, borax, soapy water bowl traps, all to no avail! Enter: Capstar pills. Finally we have relief from fleas. Our dog did skip her evening meal voluntarily the first night we gave the pill. I could tell she was not feeling the best. But she didn't get sick, and she didn't skip any other meals afterwards. All in all, I gave four stars because of that, had she not felt a little sick, I would have given five stars. We still used the product and will continue to do so as necessary, and I highly recommend this product to anyone that is dealing with a flea infestation. It saved my sanity and our house!!

Best flea control product I have ever used .If your pet sleeps with you give pill several hours before bedtime as the fleas become very active as they die off and your pet may scratch more than usual till they are all dead.I use it with topical monthly flea product as needed .

Capstar is ideal for those times I must leave a pet at the vet's for a dental or such. They will not pick up any fleas to bring home, nor will they have unwanted chemicals on them for a month as with a spot on flea application.

I have 6 cats and three of them can not be easily captured to apply flea control products.
My solution is to apply flea control to the kitties that I can readily apply medication to then give the other three capstar until one by one I have them all.. There are lots of fleas in this area during summer in particular and it's great to quickly stop a major infestation when I can not get all the kitties at once.

I was having a major problem w/fleas. I have 4 dogs, 3 of which have long fur. Before, all I had to do was wash them, then spray w/adams. But lately, as soon as i;d wash them, the fleas were back, I tried frontline, advantix 2 they did not work, so, I purchased this, and lo and behold, it works. Its expensive, w/4 dogs, but we do what we have to for our babies, right?

I had tried a small package of this first for our 3 rescue dogs. We have always had several rescued dogs, and this is the first summer we have had so much trouble with fleas. Hot and dry, I guess.

Anyway, these do work. You still have to use a flea preventative, but these will kill the fleas that are on the dog immediately, and to me, the best part is that they are out of the dog's system in 24 hours. If they don't get EVERY flea, you can give another pill the next day. FINALLY, after struggling with this most of the summer, we are flea free. Hurray!!

I was DELIGHTED with the shipping! I ordered heartworm preventative from another source the same day, and it has not arrived YET... and it's been a week. The Capstar from Entirely Pets came in 3 days.... I live in Indiana.

I will definitely order from Entirely Pets again..they have now become Number 1 in my sources for dog supplies.

I have Collie and am always afraid to give them anything new, as they are sensitive to many drugs. I was having such a flea problem, I had to try something. I was amazed. My Collie are all fine and the fleas just fell off. The down side is that I had to do it again 2 days later, but after that, in conjunction with a topical, I have the problem under control. Great product.

I have had not negative, harmful responses from my dogs and have been using it for about a year now. You can give them one a day, no problem and start to see a difference in how itchy they are immediately.
