We bought this product for our 70lb husky pitbull mix for when we go on trips in our rv and I'm so happy we did. What an amazing product we give her 2 and within 20 min she is calm and not jumping on people or being crazy. What an amazing find highly recommended. We will be using these for 4th of July and when we have people come over. LOVE IT

I have a dog that we rescued in S Texas. She had apparently been outside, in severe thunderstorms. Crackling and boomers. She's a mess now. Storms can be several miles away and she'll hear them before we do, and she's stepping all over us, trembling, crying and way out of control. She was on a prescribed anxiety medication and that only slowed down her tremors, and all the jumping on us is still happening. Nothing like waking up to a medium size dog scratching at your head. Benedryl use to work, but not anymore. Thundershirt was useless on her. Hemp oils and other calming things don't even touch her PTSD. When I know there will be storms or, I give them a few hours before and she is tired but not even close to how it use to be. She's 37 lbs and I give her 2.

Successfully cutting my dogs nails again!!!

I recently cut my dog's nails and cut into his quick accidentally. Needless to say his anxiety after it happened was over the top. I wasn't able to finish cutting the rest of his nails as he basically kicked and screamed. I gave him two of these chews as he weighs 34 lbs. and waited approximately one hour before cutting the rest of his nails. He was extremely calm and allowed me to cut his nails again while giving him a few treats like I normally would. This product worked great for my dog and I hope it works well for yours as well. I have yet to try while fireworks or gun shots are happening as he also has severe anxiety to loud noises, but I'm pretty confident it will help with that as well.

Does work—caveat

These DO work, for my dog who has diagnosed anxiety. That being said you need to take every review with a grain of salt, and apply it to your own circumstances. I would ignore reviews like “My dog wouldn't eat them,†or “My dog spit them out..†because first off—how can you know if the product worked if it didn't even get INSIDE your dog?! Secondly, different dogs, just like people, have different tastes. One of my dogs loves apples and will eat them like candy. The other dog doesn't. Does that mean apples aren't tasty/good because ONE dog didn't like the taste?Anyways, they do work for my dog that has anxiety when used in conjunction with the trazodone that he is already on. Does the recommended dose work? Not as well. When I double the dose (checked with vet and trainer first) it is fantastic. So some dogs may be more or less tolerant to giving a little more of the product, but that's something worth trying if you using the recommended dose and not seeing any results.That being said, do not think that ANY medicine will cure everything. Don't think for a second you can hand your anxious dog a pill and suddenly he will be right as rain. It doesn't work that way. Medicine takes the edge off to make your dog less reactive or anxious but it won't take away ALL the anxiety. The trazodone my dog takes doesn't even do that. What it does do is make him easier to work with so that I can take him around the things that trigger him and help him to be more comfortable with those triggers so that we may eventually wean off the meds. Be mindful of this. That's all:)

Bought this as a replacement for a more Expensive chew from the vet. I believe that this particular chew may work even better. Everyone can tell a difference in my dog and his demeanor. He can eat them just like a treat and doesn't mind them at all.

TranQuil-Chews are the BEST!

All 3 of my dogs love these chews. Give to them prior to bath or grooming or clipping nails or thunder or fireworks. Also give to our 85 pound 1 year old Goldendoodle (allergic to anything with chicken) who can get rather rambunctious around our smaller dogs. They definitely help reduce or eliminate shaking or grumpiness (depending on dog) or extreme playful behavior. None of my dogs become sluggish, but sometimes are more prone to drift off to sleep. Have tried 5 other brands and none work as well as TranQuil-Chews, and no chicken or by-product! One brand (not TranQuil Chews) even caused 2 of our 3 dogs to have uncontrollable dribbling of urine, even though fully awake. I only buy TranQuil-Chews for my dogs!

Surprisingly good results

I had to write a review because I have struggled with my dog for so many years. These chews have really helped calm him down. Just moved to new apartment and was scared to leave him alone. I'm so used to getting Noise complaints. But he is relaxed and sleeps when I'm gone. Has helped him during Thunderstorms too.

Great for reducing anxiety with fireworks

Worked well to keep my dog less anxious through the week surrounding July 4th. Only had to actually sedate her on the weekend and the 4th. Otherwise she becomes anxious and tremulous as soon as the sun starts to go down for the entire month!

When 2 new dogs came to share ur home a war broke out between the 2 alpha females. Dosing all 4 dogs for several weeks calmed them enough to get them used to living together and work out their pecking order. Great product and no side effects.

I have no idea if these chews "work", as I cannot get my dog to eat them!
She refuses.
I've crumbled in her food....she eats around it.
I've smooshed them in cheese...she ate it up only once, then figured out what was in the cheese and would no longer eat the cheese-chew part.....
These chews must taste pretty bad to dogs.
I wasted my money. And I still have an anxious dog.

Our Boxer Brook, has anxiety bad whenever we leave the house. We give her two chews shortly before we leave the house for any length of time. She is still excited when we return, but the house is the same as we left it. Otherwise she would get into mischief.
