Previcox
Previcox is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medication used to relieve pain and inflammation in dogs. Prvicox works by inhibiting cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2), an enzyme that generates chemicals which cause pain, inflammation and fever in the body. This medication is recommended for dogs that are either suffering from osteoarthritis or recovering from soft-tissue or orthopedic surgery.
This medication comes in chewable tablets that feature a palatable flavor to ensure that they can be easily administered. Each chewable tablet can be given with or without food and acts quickly to relieve pain and reduce inflammation.

Dosing
Typically the standard dose of Previcox used to treat osteoarthritic pain and inflammation is 2.27 mg/lb daily
Use the lowest recommended dosage consistent with individual response
Dosage may vary depending on your animal and usage of the drug, so follow the instructions of your veterinarian
Administer dosage as one daily dose

If a dose is missed, give the dose as soon as you remember or give the next one as directed depending on the time- be certain not to administer a double dose

Side Effects
Common side effects include flatulence, diarrhea, dizziness, headache and insomnia
If your pet experiences any of the following, contact a veterinarian, as they may indicate more serious side effects: Abdominal pain, tenderness or discomfort; bloody, black or tarry stools or blood in vomit; unexplained weight gain; water retention; fatigue or lethargy; skin rash; itching; yellowing of eyes; unusual bruising or bleeding
Stop administering Previcox and seek emergency medical attention if your pet experiences: An allergic reaction (difficulty breathing; swelling of the lips, tongue, or face; hives)
Symptoms of overdose include: drowsiness, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, headache, blurred vision, incontinence, slow breathing, and coma
