Gracie is a sweet 5 month old American Bulldog. She was a rescue puppy. Her and her sister were found abandoned in a parking lot running amok, just trying to stay alive. We adopted and brought Gracie home when she was just 10 weeks old. We were told that she had a little upper-respiratory infection and to continue their anti-biotics for two days. Well, her cough only continued to get worse, so we took her to the vet. They xrayed her and found she had a very serious pneumonia. She went onto a stronger anti-biotic for 6 weeks. The pneumonia is mostly resolved, but as a result her immune system was weakened and she has developed a type of mange. She has to go through six weeks of dips that make her sick and lethargic for a couple of days. Through all this, Gracie hasn't lost her sweet, loving, trusting disposition.
Gracie hasn't met a human or animal that she hasn't liked. She is our little social butterfly. She loves all the attention she gets from her weekly vet visits. She loves kisses, tennis balls, toys, especially the ones deemed "off-limits" by her older sister, "Scrappie". She loves water, any kind she can find. Bath water, water bowls, bird baths, water hose, sprinklers, mud puddles, and now her little plastic swimming pool that she uses to keep cool in this hot Florida weather. She especially loves DINNER TIME!!!! She loves nap time after playing hard. She loves sharing the recliner with her daddy. Gracie just loves LIFE!! For all the troubles she has had, I feel so blessed that she has come into our lives. She has brought us joy, and many happy memories already to have and to share. She is very smart. She has already learned to sit and shake her paw. She is learning the meaning of "stay", now. And you should see her do a sommersault. She is amazing Thank God for Gracie.
