Meet Duchess: A Gentle Komondor Who Was Rescued From a Barn
Breed Komondor Location Hornbeak. TN Human Britney Denman Story Around 6 years ago we went up to a farm and entered a barn with several Komondors and goats. They hadn't had much human attention and Duchess was nervous with us coming near, but she was the only one out of her siblings that didn't growl at us. We knew before hand their behavior and protectiveness of the place they were born. With the help of the veterinarian, she slept all the way home with some medication. It took her a few weeks to let us pet her with plenty of treats and patience. Now she is the best dog we have ever had and we can't imagine life without her. She is calm and gentle with all critters big and small. She loves children and loves attention over treats. She takes on the mother role with any baby animals we have, like our newest additions, a baby muntjac deer and a Nigerian Dwarf goat. She is the happiest when she walks with us through the woods and gets belly rubs.
